Coca-Cola Store at Disney Springs: What’s New?
Disney Springs is home to one of the largest homages to Coca-Cola in the world. The massive, multi-story store is home to a plethora of unique merchandise, photo opportunities, and even a rooftop bar to try all your favorite Coca-Cola drinks, and maybe some new ones too! If you are a fan of a nice ice-cold Coca-Cola beverage then step into the awesome (and well air-conditioned) store for a huge selection of Coca-Cola paraphernalia!
The Coca-Cola store is located opposite Planet Hollywood near the West Side area of Disney Springs. Both are huge and will be difficult to miss!
In this post, we will be looking at all the fantastic experiences that you can try in the store, many of which are unique to the Orlando Disney Springs Store. We will also be addressing concerns about the phased reopening of Disney Springs due to Covid-19.
Shopping and Gifts
Not only can you find your usual Coca-Cola themed items at the store, but there are many unique merchandise options from around the globe. Here you can find anything from recycled Coca-Cola can bags to fluffy polar bear slippers. The eco-friendly 5by20 collection offers a range of sustainable fashion options designed by creative women from around the world. Additionally, the store offers exciting customization options where kiosks are open for guests to make custom t-shirts, phone cases, or mugs. Orlando is home to some of the most unique merchandise options around the globe, so what’s better than a personalized Orlando Coca-Cola shirt to remember your trip. The place is also decorated to perfection in minute detail that Disney is famous for. Look up and you might just see a glass chandelier of soda pop bubbles that were made from glass Coca-Cola bottles.
Coca-Cola Polar Bear Photo Op
Nothing is more famous in the Coca-Cola world than its Christmas adverts (holidays are coming!), so why not visit the iconic Coca-Cola Polar Bear. This interactive experience takes you into the icy world of the bear, with an interactive queue that is sure to entertain guests. Watch penguins and polar bears swim beneath your feet! Once inside, you will be greeted by a huge, fluffy, 7ft polar bear wearing his signature, red Coca-Cola scarf. You are allowed to take your own photos but photographers will also be on hand to take your photo. You can purchase prints at nearby registers and even add fun special effects to your photo experience!
This is a great photo opportunity for kids and adults alike, particularly if you are a fan of a nice ice-cold coke. Typically this attraction is open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm however, due to Covid-19 concerns, this attraction is expected to be closed during the phased reopening of Disney Springs.
Even from the outside, you can see that the rooftop bar is an exciting attraction! Standing tall above Disney Springs, you are able to get fantastic views over the Town Center and West Side area of Disney Springs. The rooftop lounge offers an array of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Some of the most exciting experiences are taste tests. First of all, you can purchase a Freestyle experience where you will be able to fill up your drink 5 times within the hour to try some of the fun drink options at the Coca-Cola freestyle machines. These machines contain over 200 different flavor options, many of which you may have never tried before!
If you fancy yourself a novice mixologist then the Create-Your-Own Beverage Experience allows you to mix fresh ingredients together to create your own, one-of-a-kind drink to your own taste. It is a lot of fun to play with different flavors to see what unique beverage you can make.
Finally, the Tastes Around The World menu option offers a taster tray of 16 different drinks from around the world. This experience has a similar vibe to Club Cool at Epcot but with a few extra drinks to sample. Maybe you’ll find a new international favorite! Additionally, if you are looking to cool down a bit, try the combo tray which allows you to sample 16 international beverages and 8 domestic flavors, all with vanilla ice cream to make your own Coca-Cola floats.
Covid-19 Store Policy – How it affects the Coca-Cola Store in Orlando
As of 22nd May Disney Springs has begun a phased opening. Presently, during the first phase of the Disney Springs opening, the Coca-Cola Store is closed. It is anticipated that over time more stores will begin to open including the Orlando Coca-Cola Store. During this phased reopening, there will be restricted capacity and some rules will be in place to keep with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. These rules include limited parking for guests, temperature screening, the need for face coverings for those aged 3 and up, physically-distanced queues and barriers, reduced hours, no scheduled entertainment/high-touch interactive areas, and increased handwashing/sanitization stations.
This will affect the meet and greet with the Coca-Cola Polar bear which will not be happening during the Covid-19 situation. For the safety of cast members involved and the high-touch aspect of this attraction, it will be closed until further notice.
Guests with a temperature above 100.4F will not be allowed into Disney Springs as a precaution, and Disney Cast Members will have to complete a temperature check at home before they go to work. Any Cast Member with a high temperature will not be allowed to return to work for at least 72 hours.
Overall, the Coca-Colar store is a fantastic marvel to behold. The massive store is filled with unique merchandise, a photo op experience, and the opportunity to try Coca-Cola drinks from around the world with a fantastic view of Disney Springs. Although the store is currently closed due to the Covid-19 situation, Disney Springs is in the midst of a phased reopening, working towards a full opening in the next few months. Once everything is back up and running the Coca-Cola store is not one to miss.
